Osogbo: The lad family, allegedly chased to death by SARS officials, breaks silence, clear air on insinuations that "yahoo boy" is the deceased.

The family of a 21-year-old aluminum manufacturing apprentice, Idris Ajibola, who was reportedly chased to death by SARS officials in Osogbo in a ghastly motor accident on Tuesday, has been vigorously demanding thorough investigation to get to the root of the matter and bring the perpetrators to book.

On Wednesday, the deceased family urged police inspector-general Muhammad Adamu and the government of Osun State to investigate their loved one 's death.

Idris, who is seeking admission to a higher education institution to study engineering, and three of his friends were involved in a fatal accident on Tuesday.

In the previous article, Idris, a resident of Ofatedo, was known in the Egbedore Local Government Area of Osun State as Remi.

Two of his associates, Raheem Abdullahi and Dayo, were said to have accompanied the deceased to the Osun Mall in Osogbo to buy bread, where they met another Abdulraheem, Adekunle Taflad, who went to the store with one of his father's vehicles.

The father of the deceased, simply identified as Mr Ajibola, who could not speak much, told newsmen that his son, Idris, was an apprentice of Aluminium fabrication and not a Yahoo boy as been peddled.

He asserted that Idris, who was tagged Internet fraudster by the police, came back from Sagamu in Ogun state last week where he was learning the vocation.

The elder sister of the deceased, Rukayat Ajibola, urged police inspector-general Muhammad Adamu and the government of the state of Osun to investigate his brother's murder.

She has advised the government not to sweep the matter under the carpet.

She said, I am urging government and IGP to investigate the death of my child. The government should do anything to destroy the country's youths.

In the same vein, one of the deceased's oncles, Damilare Opadotun, described Idris' death as a major loss to the family.

According to him, Idris and his friends went to Osun Mall on their way back, according to one of the victims, Abdullahi, telling me they had seen JTF chasing them.

At some point, he said, they were pointing at weapons. But as young boys, out of fear, they could not wait, but when they swerved out of the lane, the JTF tried to overtake the vehicle.

While responding, Osun Command's Public Relations Officer, Yemisi Opalola, said that three police officers suffered a series of injuries during a protest by local youths and were admitted to the Osogbo police hospital.

She clarified that while coming from duty on Tuesday at Oke-fia another officer was also attacked with stones and some guns.

Yemisi confirmed that two protesters in Ofatedo were arrested with guns.

She said, an eyewitness came to report how demonstrators were brutalizing and attempting to kill one of the police officers who just came on Tuesday from duty. What's more, three of our men were wounded, too.
