Review: Infinix Hot 8 Lite Specs, Features and Price

The Infinix Hot 8 Lite sets a new entry-level system model throughout the Hot range of Infinix. Compared to its predecessors, this is a more powerful Infinix smartphone. The Design and Display
Infinx Hot 8 has a design very similar to what we had on the Infinix Hot  S4. The design on the Infinix Hot 8 Lite is sort of an upgrade of what we had on the Infinix Hot S4. It is a low-cost phone with a very beautiful design.

Similar to its predecessor the Infinix Hot 7 and also the Infinix HOT S4, the Infinix Hot 8 Lite was built with plastic. There is glass up front, plastic on the frame and plastic covering on the rear, that has a gradient look.

The rear of the smartphone is home to a  Triple camera system, a camera flash, a fingerprint sensor, Infinix, and Hot branding.

Upfront on the Infinix Hot 8 Lite, there is a notched 6.52 inch IPS LCD display, with a screen resolution of 720 x 1600 and a screen density of 269 PPI. Comparing the bezels here with that of the Infinix Hot 7  and the Infinix Hot S4, there is a substantial decrease in the size of the bezels.

Purchasing the Infinx Hot 8 Lite, you have the option of choosing either the Quetzal Cyan, Cosmic Purple, Shark Grey or Midnight Black color variant.

The Cameras
Compare the cameras on this device to what we had on the Infinix Hot 7 and you immediately notice a lot has changed. Infinix has stepped up the camera hardware on its Hot series smartphones.

The Infinix Hot 8 Lite features a triple-camera system, as opposed to the dual-camera system featured on the Infinix Hot 7. This increase in the number of cameras on the rear is geared towards making photos a whole lot better, leaving you with more options for taking awesome photos.

The Triple rear camera system on the Infinix Hot 8 Lite is home to a 13MP wide-angle camera with an aperture of F/1.8, a 2MP depth-sensing camera. The last camera is a QVGA camera with a low light sensor that helps in taking low light photos.

This rear camera system is equipped with quad-flash to take photos in low-light conditions brighter. This rear camera system lets users take photos in HDR as well as a panorama. Video here tops at 1080p at 30fps.

Upfront, it features an 8MP selfie camera. This camera lets you shoot with beauty mode and HDR.

Hardware and Software
The suffix ‘LITE‘ at the end of its name speaks a lot. A Lite smartphone isn’t meant to offer high performance. In most cases, Lite smartphones are lower variants of the standard model of a smartphone.

Comparing the Infinix Hot 8 Lite to other Lite smartphones released in the Hot series of the past, we quickly observe that Infinix phones have been stepped up a notch.

In the past Infinix Lite smartphones featured 1GB RAM and watered-down specs of the standard device, but things get different from the Infinix Hot 8 Lite.

It features a 12nm Octa-core Mediatek MT6761 Helio A22 processor clocked at 1.8GHz.

The smartphone also features 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, with support for Micro-SD expansion up to 128GB. In this low-cost smartphone, you also get a humongous 5000MAH battery.

On the software side, the Infinix Hot 8 Lite runs the XOS 5.0 user interface on top of the Android 9.0 (Pie) operating system.

Connectivity
The Infinix Hot 8 Lite features a 3.5mm headphone jack, a version 2.0 Micro-USB port, dual-band wifi, Bluetooth 5.0 and NFC (Near Field Connection).

The Infinix Hot 8 Lite is a 4G enabled device. it has support for Airtel, MTN and 9Mobile 4G network. Please note that you won’t be able to use Glo 4G SIM on this device, as it doesn’t support Band 28.
