Alchemy of Souls season 2 (Alchemy of Souls Part 2: Light and Shadow/ 환혼: 파트2) is the sequel of the Korean historical drama series directed by Park Joon-hwa and starring Lee Jae-wook, Jung So-min, Hwang Min-hyun, Shin Seung-ho, Yoo Jun-sang, Oh Na-ra and Jo Jae-yoon, alongside other cast members.

Alchemy Of Souls season 2 will have a three years time jump where Jung Uk has now become a hunter of soul shifters thanks to the power of ice stone that he possesses.

As per the text preview of episode 1 of Alchemy Of Souls 2, viewers will see the drastic change in Jank Uk who is now called a ‘monster.’

Fans already know that they will be meeting Naksu in a new form this season after Mudeok’s death. It seems that Jang Uk is still not over her as he carries the red bird egg everywhere. The red bird egg navigates Uk to reach to Naksu in her new form but the two love birds can not identify each other just yet.

The ice stone and the responsibilities that come with it are too heavy for Jang Uk but he gets to know that removing the magic stone is not an option as he may die in doing so.

In episode 1, Jang Uk meets a mysterious woman but he is yet to figure out who she is.


Lee Jae Wook has already started winning awards for his terrific performance of Jang Uk in season 1 of Alchemy Of Souls. The 24-year-old actor won Asia Specific Award at AMA 2022.

After wrapping up the shooting for the tvN’s fantasy drama, the actor shared his experience in an interview gushing, “I haven’t tried anything as desperately as Jang Uk and felt a huge sense of accomplishment like him. Nevertheless, there were many moments when I felt like I was going to cry while playing him. I experienced overflowing [feelings] in momentary emotions, and I learned the meaning of the word ‘overwhelming’ with my body.”

The series is set to have a 10-episode runtime and will release two episodes every week (Saturday-Sunday). The series will stream from December 10, 2022, to January 8, 2023. Episode 1 of the series will stream on December 10 at 9:10 PM KST.

After the tragic event from 3 years back, the mages are back together as they get ready to face new challenges. On the other hand, Jang Uk and Seo Yul cross paths with a woman who will change their lives forever.
