‘Carnival Row’ Trailer: Cara Delevingne & Orlando Bloom Lead A Victorian-Era Fantasy & Mystery Series

Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevingne star in Carnival Row, a Victorian fantasy world filled with mythological immigrant creatures. Feared by humans, they are forbidden to live, love, or fly with freedom. But even in darkness, hope lives, as a human detective and a faerie rekindle a dangerous affair. The city’s uneasy peace collapses when a string of murders reveals a monster no one could imagine.

“Carnival Row” is the newest addition to Amazon’s growing content. Set in Victorian-era England where creatures and humans cohabitate, there are some who aren’t for the intermingling of species. When a string of murders begins to take hold of a community, Rycroft Philostrate (Orlando Bloom) and Vignette Stonemoss (Cara Delevingne) set out to rectify their world, and set the mythical creatures free of the constraints of fear and suspicion.

As busy as filmmaker and creature creator Guillermo del Toro is, in 2015 he was conjuring yet another fantastical project, this time for Amazon. The Oscar winner was slated to co-write, executive produce and direct this latest series to Amazon’s Rolodex of content, but had to drop due to scheduling. But the creatives behind “Carnival Row” picked up where the visionary left off, leaving his indelible influence in the frame.

The series has a nine-episode order featuring the directorial work of Jon Amiel, Anna Foerster, Andy Goddard, and Paul McGuigan. Joining Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevingne in the cast are David Gyasi, Karla Crome, Indira Varma, Tamzin Merchant, Simon McBurney, Alice Krige, and recent Emmy nominee Jared Harris.

“Carnival Row” is set to be released by Amazon on August 30. Watch the new teaser trailer and two full-length sneak peek featurettes with lots of new footage.
