Arthdal Chronicles Season 2 come to an end on October 15, 2023, with the eagerly anticipated Episodes 11 and 12.

A lot of people really enjoyed both season 1 and 2, hope there will be a third season, because season 2 didn’t end well.

After a successful first season on Netflix and a brutal four-year wait after that, Sword of Aramun gave K-Drama fans a reason to renew their Disney+ subscriptions and tune in every week.

Now, speculation is logically turning to the possibility of Arthdal Chronicles Season 3, both in terms of whether it’ll actually be commissioned and, if it is, where and when it might stream.

What is Arthdal Chronicles Season 2 about?

It depicts the story of what happens in Arthdal approximately a decade later. Over the course of more than eight years, Arthdal succeeded in suppressing the massive rebellion of the tribes slaughtered by Ta Gon in Season 1, and the Agos finally achieved the reunification of 30 clans after 200 years under the leadership of Eun Seom.

In Season 2, Ta Gon’s Kingdom of Arthdal and Eun Seom’s Ago Union are set to face an inevitable great war. Eun Seom is the ruler of the East now. Tan Ya is the successor to the Wahan clan. The story set eight years after Ta Gon has become king.

When is Arthdal Chronicles season 3 ??

Of course, the wait between the first and second seasons was considerable thanks to all kinds of complicated issues, not least of which was platform limbo, so nobody would quite assume that the turnaround would be instantaneous.

However, given the success of the show for Disney+ internationally and on TVING in Korea, one can imagine that a lesson has been learned. Fans are ravenous for more content in this universe, and the odds are that they’re going to get it.

Will Arthdal Chronicles Season 3 be on Disney+?

After the show’s success on the platform thus far, it does indeed stand to reason that Arthdal Chronicles Season 3 would stream on Disney+.

The quote above supports this. If there were going to be issues with the show’s platform following the second season, it would be very unlikely that the production team were already working on the third season.

What we know about season 3 so far:

Barely anything is known about season 3 right now. Given most Korean dramas are reserved to one season, with the rare exception of ongoing Netflix shows (Love ft. Marriage and Divorce, Hospital Playlist etc.), then it seems unlikely that this one will be renewed.

Having said that though, we there is always a possibility for a spin-off or sequel. The ending hints that the journey hasn’t ended just yet. We’ve still got the situation involving the Queen and Prince Arok to deal with, not to mention the drama involving Saya and the Neanthal too, who are all still unaccounted for.

However, all things considered, we believe this will not be renewed. We generally aim to update this page when more information becomes available.
