NORAD fighter intercepts high-altitude balloon flying over Utah, official says

A U.S. official verified that NORAD fighter planes intercepted what appears to be a tiny balloon on Friday morning above Utah at a height of 43,000 to 45,000 feet.

It has been decided that the balloon and its payload do not constitute a threat to national security, the official stated.
