Elderly Couple Robbed, Daughter Raped During Violent House Robbery.

In a town near Tzaneen in Limpopo called Madeira, a home invasion resulted in the robbery and rape of an elderly couple and their daughter.

During a home invasion in Madeira, Limpopo, near Tzaneen, an elderly couple was robbed, and their daughter was raped.

A house in Madeira was allegedly broken into early on Friday morning by two men wearing balaclavas and demanding money.

An elderly couple may have been asleep when they were allegedly awoken by the sound of a door being forced open. After that, two suspects in balaclavas entered the room and demanded money while pointing guns at the couple.

After that, the suspects ransacked the house and tied the couple up. Col. Malesela Ledwaba, a Limpopo police spokesperson, stated, "The couple's daughter, 32, came rushing to the bedroom to check on her parents after hearing strange noises there. She was unfortunately grabbed by the suspects who forced her to give them the safe key that belonged to her father."

"One of the suspects allegedly forced her into the other room, where he raped her, after she gave them the key to the safe. One shot was fired during the incident, but no one was hurt."

One firearm and twelve rounds of ammunition were taken from the safe by the robbers. Before they fled the scene, they also took a laptop and two cellphones, as well as the couple's bank cards and pin codes.

"Before the suspects could withdraw the funds, the victims were able to block the cards. A case of house robbery and rape was opened when police arrived, he stated.

According to Ledwaba, Limpopo's provincial commissioner of police, Lieutenant-General Thembi Hadebe, has urged members of the community to share any information that might help catch the suspects.

The investigating officer, Capt. Phokane, can be reached at 079 875 7788, Crime Stop at 08600 10111, the nearest police station, or through the MySAPS App for those with information. Ledwaba stated, "Police investigations are still ongoing."
