N500 Can Put Smile On Someone - Beta Adewale Says
on: November 23, 2018, 06:40:28 PM

The BTR TV CEO "Beta Adewale Adediran" took to social media to narrate how he make use of 500 Naira to put a smile on someone. According to what he says;

"So N500 can put smile on someone, i saw this two hausa girls less than 10yrs of age each, hawking under the scorching sun at Freedom park, osogbo where we were Setting up lights. And because my love for Beske (i dont know english name) no be here, i called them, chatted with them in hausa and they responded well.

I asked where they came from and they don’t even know, i know they were born here, then i asked how much the beske is, they said N10 each. Then i teased them that i can buy all. The one in brown hijab was not moved, she didn’t believe it is possible, the one in pink Hijab expressed her suprise and asked if i will truly do that.
I looked at my students setting up light, they were 7 plus me making 8, then i said “count all” she counted all and it was N510, i said the the N10 will be my jaara o because am paying N500. She nodded but still didn’t believe i wanted to buy all.

Then i gave her 1k to give me N500 change. That was when i realised what i have done. She screamed and jumped, she shouted “wayo Allah” . That was when i had to do video recording and interviewed her later. See the video attached.

She quickly asked if it is 2pm already and if Jumat service has been done, i said No, it was just past 1pm, she was further happy, she said they must run home so as to prepare for Jumat. She thanked me severally.

She said on a normal day she wouldn’t get home until evening when she finish selling all. they told me they came from Ita-olokan, they hawked from Itaolokan to old garage, i got emotional, they are too little for such long distance under this sun, they should be around 7yrs old or a bit above.. Only people in osogbo will understand.

The little girl said this is what they feed on in family and today is a happy day for her because she sold all this early. She told me her mom would be shocked at her early return. Hmmmmm we chatted for a while before she said she must rush home because of Jumat, i had to give them transport fare. They looked at me in shock and were speechless.

She offered to help buy pure water for the beske, i told her not to worry so as to rush home for Jumat, she asked if am going for Jumat too, i told her am a Christian, she asked why am i so concerned about her Jumat, i told her because i respect her religion, she kept quiet. she left and came back with an old woman to sell us pure water, now i know when u make people happy, they will over serve you.

With just N500, her day was made, unexpected happened, her day became unusual. She was filled with joy.

Lesson: You do not need 50k to make people happy, you dont have to be a millionaire. As much as u pray for greatness, your present position is envied by someone else, help with what seems meaningless.

Put a smile on someone, give them hope, define their moment. Help the poor.

Now i still wonder how religion, gender and ethnicity seperated us after sharing so much joy and happy moment with the girls

She is Hausa i am yoruba, she is a muslim i am a christian yet we shared so much great bond. Who the hell divided us.

Pls share..let the world know we can do so much together

Beta Adewale Adediran"
