The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC summoned Leeroy Egebe, (nom de plume Amedeo Dante William, Alhassan Davide) before Justice E. A. Obile of the Federal High Court, sitting in Warri, Delta State on a 8-tally charge verging on connivance and getting cash from a Swiss lady by falsification to the tune of $18,023.96 (Eighteen Thousand, Twenty-Three Hundred Dollars, Ninety-Six Cent.

Egebe's inconveniences started when one Vivian Varotto-Guigoz, a national of Switzerland, appealed to the EFCC charging that she met one Amedeo William Dante (the litigant) who asserted to be an Italian living in the United Kingdom on a social dating site called "Badoo".

She asserted that on a few events, between 12 May and 14 October 2015, she wired an aggregate entirety of CHF 196,701,44 and EUR 15, 957.43 to various people in the United Kingdom, Canada and Nigeria at the demand of Dante, for sundry reasons which she later found to be deceitful.
