World Cup 2018: Germany 0-1 Mexico
on: June 17, 2018, 06:07:27 PM

The holders finally get their defence under way against Mexico in Moscow.

Germany lifted the World Cup trophy in Rio de Janeiro after Mario Gotze slammed home an extra time winner against Argentina.

Four years later they are among the strong favourites again with another strong squad, sturdy enough to leave Manchester City star Leroy Sane out.

The Germans should make it out of Group F ahead of Sweden and South Korea, although the Mexicans will offer a tricky first assignment.

So who will come out on top? Follow all the drama as the action unfolds, right here...

Germany Starting XI: Neuer; Kimmich, J. Boateng, Hummels, Plattenhardt; Khedira, Kroos; T. Muller, Ozil, Draxler; Werner

Subs: Ginter, Reus, Trapp, Goretzka, Sule, Rudiger, Rudy, Brandt, Gundogan, ter Stegen, Gomez
