He condemned political detractors fanning the embers of mischief by holding nocturnal meetings to shop for candidates to unseat Dickson. In a statement on Monday, Ekpebu pointed out that such moves were detrimental to the development of the state. He stressed that the regrettable situation, where no governor had served or completed two terms in the state, did not augur well for the stability and continuation of projects in the state. ADVERTISEMENT He commended Dickson for his development strides, arguing that to change any government at this time would be dysfunctional to the stability of the state and should be jettisoned by those who were making such moves. Ekpebu, who is also the Chairman of the Management Board of the Bayelsa Development and Investment Corporation, noted that Dickson had done well and deserved a second term in office to enable him to continue with his development effort. Such efforts, he said, comprised the construction of the three senatorial roads, bridges, other basic infrastructure as well as other human capital development and massive industrialisation of the State. According to him, well meaning Bayelsans should, instead of wanting to unseat the Governor, come together and mobilise support for the governor. He added that Dickson had remained focused on the implementation of his developmental agenda for the State despite the devastating effects of dwindling resources to the three tiers of government in the country.
