The Ministry of Interior in a statement, released on Wednesday said, “The Federal Government declares Friday, February 22, 2019, as work-free day. Those providing essential duties and bankers are excluded.

The presidency has given this directive late Wednesday, however, bankers and those offering essential services across the nation are excluded. The citizens are to prepare for the rescheduled general election for presidential and National assembly election respectively, which will come up on Saturday.

President Muhammadu Buhari will on Friday address Nigerians ahead of the 2019 elections. This was revealed on Thursday by Garba Shehu, one of President Buhari’s media aide.

According to Shehu, the broadcast will start by 7 in the morning and will be aired on the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) and Radio Nigeria.

He further noted that a repeat broadcast of the president’s speech will take place at 9 pm.
