The Nigeria Police would soon release the names of the officers and men who passed the promotion examinations conducted for all category of ranks in 2015.
The Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 8, Mr Lawan Tanko, dropped the hint on Wednesday while interacting with men and officers of the Ekiti State Police Command in Ado Ekiti. Zone 8 comprises of Ekiti ,Kogi  and Kwara States Police Commands.
Tanko charged the men to display high level of professionalism to earn promotion, warning that any officer who engaged in corrupt practices would be dismissed.
He said, “President Buhari and the Inspector General of Police Solomon, Arase, have zero tolerance for corruption. If you are corrupt as a police officer, be ready to face the law. We will discipline such officer.
“This is an era of change. Let us have attitudinal change and embrace the change by imbibing professionalism and partner with the communities where we work to be able to curb all inherent challenges.
“Most importantly, we have to form synergy with our sister agencies, vigilance groups and neighbourhood  watch to bring down crimes. We work for the members of the public and we have to do it with cooperation, so that we can make success out of  it.”
Speaking earlier, the State Police Commissioner, Mr James Etop disclosed that all the road blocks in the state had been dismantled in compliance with the IG’s directive, adding that the command had only increased highway patrol to rid the roads of criminal elements.
Etop added that his men shall work with members of the public and also respect their rights to make Ekiti safe for all residents.
