At Potiskum main market in Dogo Nini ward, Patiskum Local Government Area, Yobe State, a fire broke out.

86 businesses were destroyed during the outbreak.
 
Alhaji Nasiru Mato, Chairman of the Market Traders Association, told Daily Trust that a fire on January 8 at 8:36 p.m. destroyed goods and property worth N40 million in the market.



Mato added that the fire's cause has not yet been determined.
