Late Tuesday night, a tanker transporting petrol lost control and exploded, causing widespread destruction in Jigawa State. Confirming the incident, the state Police Spokesperson, Shi’isu Adam, said the tanker driver was en route from Kano to Nguru in Yobe State when the accident happened near Khadija University in Majiya Town. Adam explained that the tanker driver lost control of the vehicle at around 11:30pm resulting in a fatal explosion that engulfed many people at the scene. However, an X user @ImranMuhdz posted a video of the grave of the deceased with the caption: “Mass burial of over 100 victims of the tanker explosion in Majia Town, Jigawa State.”
