The very sad incident comes two days after no less than 23 people were killed in a tanker explosion along the Felele / Lokoja / Abuja highway, according to the Daily Post. Eyewitness accounts told DAILY POST on Saturday morning that as many residents watched helplessly, the electronic shop was gutted by fire at around 11:50PM Friday. The electronic shop is located near GT Bank Junction, Lokoja, along the Murtala Mohammed road. Owned by one business mogul, Peter Onujeme, as there was no firefighter or fire truck to quench the fire, the shop was burnt to ashes. Moreover, DAILY POST has discovered that the Federal Fire Service office is a few meters away from the site of the incident. The entire building was burned down and millions worth of products lost. What a shame. The hard earned investment of someone was totally ruined by fire and no one or even the constituted authorities were able to come out to save the situation. The owner is left with nothing at all now. In Kogi State, what is the role of the State and Federal Fire Service? What is more troubling is the shortage of fire services to help out if there is a fire incident. Therefore, the new episode is one too many. "It is either they come out with one flimsy excuse or the order if their services are requested. You can imagine, look at the Federal Fire Service building, just a stone's throw away from this electronic store, and without any support, this store was already absolutely burnt down. "This situation is ugly because we can remember that two days ago, in the same Lokoja, Kogi State, a tanker exploded, taking a lot of lives and property and now this one is happening again," lamented by an eyewitness.
