The state Commissioner of Police, CP, Mr Fatai Owoseni, disclosed this while parading 25 suspects before newsmen in Lagos on Friday. Owoseni said the arrested robbery suspects include six Nigerien nationals. According to the CP, “The Nigeriens were arrested at about 2:30am on January 29 in a Datsun Sunny car with registration number AKD 163 DW. “They were on their way to a robbery operation in Ebute Metta area of Lagos,” the CP said, displaying dangerous items recovered from the gang: Four pump action guns, six cutlasses, one iron cutter, 22 locally-made guns and two torch lights. “Four double barrel guns and 43 live cartridges, 27 vehicles were also recovered while 1,028 hoodlums were arrested during raids of black spots during the period. “621 motorcycles were also impounded while one robbery suspect was killed during gun fire battle with the police,” the police boss said.
