Monitoring compliance of petrol service stations, the Oyo State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps said that several meetings and warnings had been given to dealers to stop selling to black market operators but all to no avail. The Commandant disclosed that some defaulters had been arrested. He, however, promised stricter monitoring measures against those hoarding fuel in the state. A petrol service station owner, Mrs Tina Ogundoyin, told Channels Television that she could only sell what she bought. Some residents lamented that the fuel situation had made life difficult for them. They called on the government to find urgent and lasting solutions to the crisis. Meanwhile, the few filling stations which have fuel are selling between 180 and 220 Naira.
