No less than five persons are reportedly feared dead on Friday night in Agbor, the headquarters of Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State.

They reportedly died after a gas plant went up in flames, razing several buildings and leaving many persons with serious injuries.

The source of the fire was yet to be known at press time, but a source said firefighters were at the scene making frantic effort to put off the fire so as to save lives and property of persons living around the gas plant.

“The explosion left several persons dead from various degrees of burn and others badly injured.

“The explosion erupted from Osadebe Gas plant along the expressway, close to Eye Clinic Agbor, Delta State, but we are yet to know the cause of the fire,” the source said.
