over the two suicide bomb explosions in Damaturu early morning today in which six people were confirmed dead and 26 others injured. “Once again, Governor Gaidam is heartbroken. Once again, he mourns with the families of victims of these callous, senseless and condemnable attacks” A statement from Damaturu said. “At this time of so much sadness, therefore, Governor Gaidam expresses his heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the families of victims. He prays Almighty Allah (SWT) to grant repose to the souls of those who died and quick recovery to those who sustained injuries”. The statement signed by by Abdullahi Bego, added that “Already, the Governor has directed that injured victims be given quick and free treatment at the Sani Abatcha Specialist Hospital, where they have been taken for medical care”. “And in line with the governor’s directive, Hospital and State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) officials are at this time doing everything necessary to provide the assistance and support that the victims need”. “Governor Gaidam urges people across Yobe State to continue in the traditions of vigilance, prayers and support to security agencies as they push on with their effort to rid our State of the unspeakable violence that has caused so much pain and death”. The suicide bombings in Damaturu, the capital of Yobe State where six people were killed from the explosion with more than 20 other victims injured, was confirmed by the Director of Media and Publicity to Yobe State Governor, Abdullahi Bego who noted that the dead have been evacuated to mortuary while the injured victims are currently being attended to by health and emergency workers.
