Onnoghen was sworn-in by President Muhammadu Buhari, at the council chamber of the Presidential Villa, Abuja. The new acting Chief Judge replaces Mahmud Mohammed whose tenure ended yesterday after attaining the 70 years retirement age. Onnoghen will operate in the acting capacity until the name of a substantive CJN is forwarded to the Senate and confirmed.
