Buhari reportedly returned the budget to the national assembly after discovering some faults in the latest version. Vanguard reports that the re-worked budget was sent to the president at about 1: 15am on Tuesday but was returned to the National Assembly at about 12.00 noon Tuesday. It was also gathered that principal officers and members of the review committee from both legislative chambers met at about 3.20pm till about 5.30pm in the Senate wing to reconsider the observations made by the president on the budget. There has been uproar in the country following the refusal of the president to sign the controversial budget. Meanwhile, Senate leader, Ali Ndume had earlier disclosed that President Muhammadu Buhari was expected to sign the 2016 budget by Friday. Ndume said the grey areas causing the conflict between the National Assembly and the Presidency had been resolved, thereby necessitating the President to assent to the document.
