Sunday Punch gathered that the kidnappers had made repeated calls to Ahmed threatening not to release his wives unless the ransom was paid. “They (kidnappers) demanded that I should give them plenty money, but I told them that I don’t have money to give anybody,” Ahmed told Punch in a telephone interview. The gunmen had invaded Nasarawa town on Thursday night, abducted the commissioner’s two wives and took them to an undisclosed destination.
