Spokesperson for the board, Lawan Ibrahim, said the beggars had been arrested in the city around the Bata Area Murtala Muhmamed road, Nasarawa Hospital, Railway Station and Yahuza Suya junction. Ibrahim, who announced that 416 women and 232 men were arrested during the raid, added that beggars who fail to abide by the law will continue to be arrested. He Said; “We will make Kano streets beggar-free. ”Those arrested have been screened and those who were are first time offenders, will be handed over to their relatives. “Those who are not first time offenders would be charged to court."
