Senator Francis Fadahunsi, who represents Osun East Senatorial District, has highlighted his commitment to ensuring the success of the voter registration drive in his area.

He spoke at his country home in Ilase-Ijesa, Obokun Local Government Area, Osun State, on Tuesday, highlighting his efforts to mobilise his people for the activity.

Fadahunsi stated that he has been actively involved in the process, with representatives assigned to supervise and submit frequent status reports.

He stated that his senatorial area has not been left out of this mobilization drive, with stakeholders such as monarchs, guardians of cultural assets, and community leaders actively participating to facilitate the process.

Fadahunsi made his statement in the busy Market Square, a melting pot of cultures and a representation of Nigerian diversity, he created a charged atmosphere that struck a deep chord with locals, traders, and market sellers.

In order to convey his political point, he used the biblical story of the lost coin (Luke 15:8–9) in his highly symbolic declaration.  By claiming to have "imole" (light) in one hand and "igbale" (broom) in the other, he implied that he had cleared the way and eliminated barriers in order to bring back to Osun a lost gem: the political clout and leadership that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu personified.

According to him, "As a dependable and reasonable leader, I am present with my own people at this voter registration.  For over two weeks, I've sent people to supervise the procedure and then write me a status report.

“My senatorial district has not been left behind on this mobilisation. I have personally gone round ensuring that stakeholders that will facilitate the process are actively onboard.

Particularly, reaching the Kings (Obas), custodian of cultural heritage and Community leaders. Thereby, arousing the community people to register. Including the long-time settlers in our environment, the Hausa farmers, Fulani herdsmen and the Igedes. They all must register.

“There are 52 communities in Ibadan having not less than 30,000 Ijesha people and persons conducting voter registration are sent to get the people registered. Based on the foregoing, it can be boldly affirmed that the registered,” he added.
