Shaw picked up a hamstring injury during the game and is in a race against time to be fit for England’s opening game of Euro 2024 against Serbia on June 16. Earlier this week, Three Lions manager, Gareth Southgate, said he was taking a “gamble” in selecting the left-back for his squad. The 28-year-old, who has been at Old Trafford for a decade, has now said he was disappointed when supporters questioned his commitment to the club. “If the manager asks me to play, I’m never going to say ‘no.’ But I shouldn’t have played [at Luton],” Shaw said. “It’s kind of everyone’s fault. Partly my fault, partly the [United] medical staff. “I came back too quickly and I actually ended up getting another injury in my hamstring … I did push to do everything I can to be fit for United.”
