Over the past decade of being in a committed relationship, if I've discovered something, it's that love is not a feeling. Love is an option. Strong relationships are kept together by people who choose to do the little things.

We wake up every day and are met with endless chances to express some love to the people we care for. If we want to do so or not is up to us.

Many people ignore the signs or, worse yet, they avoid searching. So here's a list of 44 tested tactics that demonstrate great love to choose from.

1. You're disregarding your phone, First thing in the morning, you grab your partner.

2. You fill a glass of water and first give it to them, before you get one for yourself.

3. You're not snapping around. Sure as hell, you're not screaming.

4. You play the music that you were listening to when you first met on a Monday when you were making dinner.

5. You grow to love the sound of the last bit of yogurt being scraped out of their cup. You're meditating. You're grinning.

6. You take pride in your listening skills. When to shut up, you know.

7. On a Tuesday, you tell them they look fine. You're telling it.

8. In public, you hold their side. Often, when preparing dinner at home, you make a point to do it too.

9. You stop. You think. You consider their position. You fight to not get them upset.

10. You tell them when you’re scared. You let them hug you.

11. When you’re with their family or friends you act like you give a damn. You show interest.

12. You Should Also laugh With Families and Friends.

13. You listen to them when they had a bad day. You stay quiet. You keep your good news for another time.

14. You give them a small gift on a Wednesday. Nothing crazy. Just something.

43. You prioritize making time for each other. You get outside. You do things. You sneak kisses.
