SpyLoaded News / How Mohbad Died After I Treated Him - Nurse Opens Up In Court
« Last post by Morayo on March 15, 2025, 03:24:36 PM »

Feyisayo Ogedengbe, the auxiliary nurse who treated the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has revealed that he experienced a reaction and began vomiting after she administered a tetanus injection.

Testifying before Justice C.A. Shotobi at the Coroner’s Court in Ikorodu, Lagos, on Friday, Ogedengbe narrated that she stepped out to obtain additional medical supplies when she received a call that Mohbad had started convulsing.

According to her, after the tetanus injection was given, Mohbad developed goosebumps, a reaction which she said his wife, Omowunmi, described as a “normal response” for him.

Ogedengbe explained that on September 12, 2024, she was contacted by one Ayobami Sodiq (known as Spending) to treat Mohbad.

Upon her arrival at Mohbad’s Lekki residence around 2:30 pm, she noticed a swollen cut on his right hand.

According to the nurse, she administered the tetanus shot to his upper arm, and after confirming that Mohbad had an ulcer, she chose to give him paracetamol rather than diclofenac.

She stated that she then injected him with 4ml of paracetamol diluted with 1ml of water, along with a slow 10ml dose of ceftriaxone to treat a bacterial infection.

The nurse added that as she administered the ceftriaxone, Mohbad began to feel discomfort and got up to vomit.

“After vomiting in the toilet, he returned to the room and sat on the floor, where I noticed the goosebumps on his body.

“I showed his wife (Omowunmi) the reaction, and she said it was his normal response to injections,” Ogedengbe stated.

She explained that there were four people in the room, including Mohbad, his wife, and Ayobami when the injection was given.

Ogedengbe stated that she then asked Omowunmi why she had not mentioned that Mohbad usually reacted that way to injections.

“Omowunmi then took Mohbad to the bathroom and began pouring water on his head,” she narrated.

Realising the seriousness of the situation, the nurse stated that she and Ayobami rushed to a pharmacy to find medication for the allergic reaction, but they faced delays at the first pharmacy.

She stated, “After visiting another pharmacy and obtaining the necessary hydrocortisone injection and normal saline infusion, we returned to find Mohbad outside the house. By then, preparations were underway to take him to the hospital.

Due to a lack of available vehicles and heavy traffic, Mohbad was transported to the hospital on a motorcycle, where he was later declared dead on arrival by the medical team.”

She recalled that when they finally got to the hospital, the medical personnel initially hesitated to treat him, causing some confusion.

Ogedengbe noted that Mohbad’s body was taken back to the house around 8pm, while they went to the Orchid Lekki Police Station to obtain a death certificate. After police inquiries, they were directed to the Ajiwe Police Station at Ajah for a report.

After cross-examination by the counsel for Mohbad’s family, Dr Wahab Shittu, SAN; Omowunmi’s counsel, Kabir Akingbolu; and that of the state, the case was adjourned to Friday, March 21, 2024, for further hearing.

The Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions at a Magistrate Court, sitting in Sabo, Yaba, Lagos, in February 2025, had stated that Ogedengbe, and Sodiq would face prosecution for reckless and negligent acts under Section 251 (e) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

This was as the court acquitted popular music artiste, Abdulazeez Fashola, also known as Naira Marley; alongside music promoter, Samson Balogun, better known as Sam Larry; Owodunni Ibrahim (Primeboy); and Mohbad’s former manager, Opere Babatunde.

Osun Amọtẹkun Clears air on reasons some cadets were sent home from training camp.

Osun Amọtẹkun Corps headed by the Board Chairman, AIG Wale Abass has responded to some rumours about the on going recruitment of new personnel.

Abass who explained why some of the cadets from the ongoing training camp were sent home, made this clarification to the Media on Friday at the recruitment site on Friday in Ede.

According to Abass, “the recruitment process was open, transparent, and merit-based, with no consideration given to political affiliations. The 1,000 cadets invited to the camp underwent a rigorous selection process, which included online application, academic credential verification, physical screening, and fitness tests”.

He also explained further that some individuals who were not selected for training gained access to the camp premises, while others failed to arrive on time. These issues were addressed promptly, and those who had health issues were disqualified from continuing the training.

The Board Chairman also addressed a disturbing incident involving a woman who arrived at the camp with a breastfeeding infant, emphasizing that this is against the policy of paramilitary training.

“One disturbing incident that has been highlighted in the video circulating online involves a woman who arrived at the camp with a breastfeeding infant. This is completely against the policy of paramilitary training, which does not permit individuals with health conditions or those caring for young children to remain in the camp. This situation further underscores the importance of maintaining strict standards to ensure the safety and efficiency of our operations.

“It is deeply unfortunate that these applicants, who were rightfully discharged due to health concerns, have chosen to spread false information about the Corps.

“These actions are part of a deliberate campaign to damage the reputation of Osun Amotekun Corps and bring the organization into disrepute.

“The video in question is not a reflection of the truth but a calculated effort to mislead the public and undermine the work that we do.

“It’s not true that three people died in the camp. Those who were unconscious during the training are now recovering. This is the result of the efforts of certain individuals trying to exploit the situation for political gain”, he explained.

In an interview with some of the recruits who fainted during the exercise, they explained that they were given immediate attention at the clinic and they were fit to join the exercise after the medication and attention of the doctor.

However, Abass assured the public that the Osun Amotekun Corps remains committed to serving all citizens impartially and without bias, informing the public to disregard the baseless allegations and focus on the truth, emphasizing that the Corps will continue to uphold the principles of fairness, transparency, and professionalism in all its operations.

Business / Why Fuel Price Reducing In Nigeria – Marketer Explains
« Last post by Morayo on March 15, 2025, 09:44:45 AM »

Daily Post reports that a petroleum marketer has talked about the real reason Nigeria’s premium motor spirit price has been reducing in the past months.

According to an analysis by a petroleum products marketer who preferred anonymity, the main reason responsible for the drop in fuel prices is the implementation of the deregulation of the downstream oil sector.

He said while some suggestions have attributed the reduction in petrol price to increased local refinery capacities and the Crude for Naira initiative, the overriding reason for falling prices is a direct consequence of competition enabled by the deregulation or liberalisation of the downstream sector.

This comes as Dangote Refinery’s latest price reduction move dropped its depot price to N815 per litre from N825 last month.

Although the latest ex-depot petrol price drop is yet to impact retail prices, DAILY POST reports that Dangote petrol is sold between N860 per litre and N880 at MRS filling stations and other Dangote partner filling stations.

Earlier, it was reported that the landing cost of petrol dropped to N774.82 per litre, cheaper than Dangote petrol, which stood at N825.

Speaking on the latest petrol price drop, the marketer said the product price may soon drop to N800 per litre without specifically mentioning a timeline.

“Prices of gasoline have continued to fall and may soon go below N800. The big question is why. Many suggestions are being made as to the reason behind this phenomenon. Some suggest it is purely local refining capacity. Others suggest it’s the Crude for Naira initiative,” he said.

According to him, whatever the reason for falling petrol prices, it remains a welcome relief to Nigerians.

“Whatever the cause, it is definitely a welcome relief to consumers and will simultaneously help to ease the inflationary pressures in the economy.”

He emphasised, “The overriding factor from my perspective is that the falling prices are a direct consequence of competition enabled by the deregulation or liberalisation of the downstream sector. We had often made this point in arguing in favour of this policy. Unfortunately, many stakeholders, including labour, pushed back, allowing the country to almost go bankrupt before the policy was finally implemented. We should, however, note that prices can also go up in this deregulated environment. The only way to ensure that prices remain at their lowest possible level is to ensure very robust competition in the industry.”

Highlighting the need for competition in the downstream sector, he said no single entity should dominate petrol supply in Nigeria.

“This means, in particular, that no single entity should dominate the supply to the country. Today, local refineries would prefer that there be no imports. To achieve that goal, they must continuously keep their prices low. The minute you remove that counterbalance, there will be no incentive to keep prices as low as possible,” he said.

He noted that petrol prices are being forced down because imports are still being allowed.

“My own take is that prices are being forced down because imports are still being allowed,” the source said.

“The authorities should continue to monitor to ensure that only quality products are being imported and, at the same time, ensure that there is a balance between total consumption in the country, local production, and imports.

“Ultimately, local refining of our crude is good for us. However, there must be an incentive for local refiners to keep their prices at the barest profitable minimum through limited and controlled imports. Local refineries also always have the option of exporting excess production to earn dollars,” he explained.

Entertainments / Mercy Chinwo: Court Orders Arrest Of VeryDarkMan For Defamation
« Last post by Morayo on March 13, 2025, 03:47:02 PM »

An Abuja Chief Magistrate Court sitting at Wuse Zone 6, has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of social media critic, Vincent Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan.

The arrest order followed a criminal defamation case that was brought before the court by a renowned female gospel singer, Mercy Chinwo.

In his ruling, Magistrate Emmanuel Iyana ordered the Nigeria Police Force and other law enforcement agencies to arrest VDM and produce him before the court to answer to criminal allegations that were levelled against him by the gospel singer.

The court noted that the defendant failed to honour a summon it issued on March 5, which directed him to appear for the proceeding.

Despite a passionate plea by counsel to the defendant, Mr. Deji Adeyanju, who was presebt in court, Magistrate Iyana declined to vacate the arrest order.

Adeyanju had begged the court to allow him to personally produce his client on the next adjourned date.

Specifically, VDM was alleged to have made defamatory statements against the singer through his social media page.

It allegedly claimed that Chinwo was involved in a contractual dispute over her purported diversion of the sum of $345,000 linked to her former record label boss, Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu, also known as Eezee Tee.

Aggrieved by the allegation which she described as not only false but also injurious to her public image and reputation, the gospel singer, adduced before the court, documentary evidence that included emails and payment receipts, in a bid to establish her innocence.

The complainant’s team of lawyers led by Mr. Pelumi Olajengbesi, insisted that the defendant’s action was contrary to Sections 391 of the Penal Code and Section 24 (1)(B) of the Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention etc) Act 2015.

It will also be recalled that Chinwo’s counsel had also instituted a N1.1billion suit against VDM before the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

The lawyer prayed the court to compel the defendant to delete, retract, and issue a public apology for all the alleged false and defamatory statements he made against Chinwo and her brand.

SpyLoaded News / Alimi Denies Involvement in any Contract scam, Tasks Banik To...

Kolapo Alimi Denies Involvement in any Contract scam, Tasks Adebayo Adeleke ( Banik) to Honour Invitations of Anti-Graft Agencies.

● Sets to Sue Banik for Defamation and Libel.

The Osun State Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi has denied baseless allegations of financial misconduct levelled by Adebayo Adeleke (Banik), daring the former Commissioner to answer invitations of anti-graft agencies over weighty allegations against him.

In a personally signed press statement, Oluomo Alimi vowed to drag Banik to court for defamation of character and libel, submitting that attempt by Banik to spread the mud would not stop the weighty and documented financial and contract scams now before the anti-corruption agencies.

The full statement by Oluomo Alimi reads as follows:

“Ordinarily,I wouldn't have again dignified the already jittery and embattled Prince Adebayo Adeleke (a k.a Banik) and his likes, with a response of this nature as a result of yet another spurious and unverified allegations he raised against me as currently being circulated in the social media, today, Thursday, 14th March, 2025.

“However, for the benefit of innocent members of the public who might be misled, the need to counter him for all the baseless allegations raised against me can not be overemphasized.

“To this end, I am using this opportunity to state that Prince Adebayo Adeleke is presently a drowning man, who will use any available opportunity to catch at a straw as a result of the many weighty allegations against him which are in the public domain.

“In order words, Prince Adebayo Adeleke having been exposed to the series of allegations raised against him in form of grafts is currently so desperate to try anything, no matter how improbable, in order to mislead the public on the series of financial allegations levelled against him while holding forth as the Commissioner for Local Govt and Chieftaincy Affairs in the administration of former Governor Gboyega Oyetola.

“For the umpteenth times, I, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, is using this opportunity to tell him and others in his sinking ship that, my decision to take him to a competent court of law for blackmailing me is not a threat as any moment from now, he will hear from my team of lawyers who are already working round the clock in that regard.

“Lest I forget to state that, I advise Mr Banik to also stop using ALGON as a smokescreen to attack and malign my person and integrity while I held forth as the Commissioner for Local Govt and Chieftaincy Matters.

“Should Banik, have any concrete evidence/proof that I was involved in any fraud or other allegations of financial  impropriety as I had earlier challenged  him and made known to the public, he should feel free to approach the anti graft agencies, instead of him engaging in this ongoing needless and fruitless grandstanding in order impugn on my person and reputation.

“It is trite for me to also  inform and educate Banik and his co-travellers that, ALGON, is not and has never been an agency of government via the Ministry of Local Government .It is an independent body that operates legally on its own.

“Therefore, spuriously linking me to any malfeasance (if any) by the agency while holding forth as the political head of the Ministry of L.G and Chieftaincy Affairs is a nullity and an exercise in futility .

“As an already sinking ship who is currently under the investigative net of ICPC and other anti graft agencies that will soon invite him for questioning on the series of allegations raised against him, I implore Prince Adebayo Adeleke to toe the path of doing things normal and right by also writing to anti grant agencies with a view to inviting me for questioning rather than the way he has been throwing cautions to the wind of public opinion by resorting to unbridled media trials which will not stand the test of time in the mind of right thinking members of the public.

“ Banik has every right to tell the world that he has sent petitions concerning financial  malfeasance against me to the anti graft agencies and  I, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, is ready to go and answer the allegations without any let or hindrance..

“Finally, I wish to state that, as former Commissioner for Local Govt.and Chieftaincy Affairs in the administration of His Excellency, Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola, I  was not at any point in time involve in any fraud or contract scam as against Prince Adeleke Adebayo a k.a Banik whose personally owned business entity, ICE FARM NIG.LTD was caught in the web of breaching the Code of Conduct Act and other financial incongruence while he held the reign of political power as a Commissioner in the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.

“I repeat and repeat, Prince Adebayo Adeleke should stop chasing shadows through media trials as the whole world already knows that his attempt to blackmail me is a fruitless effort to divert the attention of the public from the serious allegations levied against him and his gangs.”

.... As Abbas, Omoyele, Fimihan Urge New Recruits to Embrace Perseverance and Discipline

The Osun Amotekun Corps has officially launched the training of its newest batch of 1,000 recruits, a move aimed at bolstering security across the state.

The training kicked off on Monday at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Ede, Osun State, with the formal accreditation and documentation of the new recruits.

Over the next three weeks, the cadets will undergo an intensive program designed to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to enhance the safety and security of Osun communities. Dr. Hon. Adekunle Isaac Omoyele, Corps Commander of Osun Amotekun, spoke to reporters, emphasizing the importance of discipline among the recruits. He stressed that indiscipline would not be tolerated and urged the cadets to maintain the highest standards of conduct throughout their training and beyond. Omoyele also commended Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, for approving the recruitment, which he said would greatly enhance the security of lives and properties in the state.

He encouraged the cadets to pay close attention to both theoretical and practical training, ensuring their readiness to fight crime and maintain peace in their communities.

In a press interview, AIG Wale Abbas (Rtd), Board Chairman of the Osun Amotekun Corps, expressed gratitude to Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke for providing the youth in Osun State with an opportunity to join the Amotekun Corps. He highlighted the importance of tolerance, perseverance, and endurance throughout the training process, and reassured the recruits that they would receive expert instruction from seasoned professionals in the security field.

The training camp will be led by AIG Fimihan Adeoye (Rtd), a former Assistant Inspector General of Police, alongside a team of experienced trainers from various security agencies, including the Department of State Services (DSS), Nigerian Army, Police, Peace Corps, and other paramilitary forces.

"This new batch of recruits will play a vital role in enhancing the safety of Osun State as the Amotekun Corps continues its mission to safeguard lives and property while promoting peace and security across the region," said Abbas.

Ajibade Ayodeji from Odo-Otin commended the state government for the recruitment initiative, especially amidst the rising insecurity in the country. He noted that the cadets were undergoing rigorous training, waking up early for exercises, and participating in regimental security drills.

Fatoke Bimpe Janet shared that she had learned valuable skills on how to protect and prevent security threats in her community.
