A lot of fans were anticipating a diss track from Drake or another jab at him on Future and Metro Boomin's new album We Still Don't Trust You, so they were thrilled when this week's New Music Friday drops happened around an hour ago.

Of those, the latter has happened. Track six on the second half of the new LP, "Show of Hands," contains A$AP Rocky, even though the features on the record are not yet recognized.

It's impossible to dispute the belief held by some that many of his remarks are directed at Drake.

He raps:

“N****s in they feelings over women, what, you hurt or something?
I smash before you birthed, son, Flacko hit it first, son
Still don’t trust you, it’s always us, never them
Heard you dropped your latest s**t
Funny how it just came and went”

Fans think he’s talking about some of Drake’s recent bars aimed at himself and Rihanna on For All The Dogs. Do you think Rocky will get some bars in the supposed Drake diss track?

The Federal High Court in Lagos has sentenced controversial crossdresser Idris Okuneye, commonly known as Bobrisky, to six months in prison without the possibility of fines.
 
Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court, sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Friday, April 12, 2024, sentenced Idris Okuneye, a.k.a Bobrisky, to six months imprisonment over mutilation of the Naira notes.
 
He was arraigned on Friday, April 5, 2024 on a four-count charge bordering on mutilation of the Naira notes to the tune of N490, 000, 00 (Four Hundred and Ninety Thousand Naira).
 
Count one reads: “That you, OKUNEYE IDRIS OLANREWAJU, on the 24th day of March, 2024, at Imax Circle Mal, Jakande, Lekki, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, whilst dancing during a social event, tampered with the total sum of N400,000.00 (Four Hundred Thousand Naira) notes issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria by spraying same and you thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 21(1) of the Central Bank Act, 2007.”
 
Another count reads: “That you, OKUNEYE IDRIS OLANREWAJU, between July and August, 2023 at Aja Junction, Ikorodu, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, whilst dancing during a social event, tampered with the sum N50,000.00 (Fifty Thousand Naira) issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria by spraying same and you thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 21(1) of the Central Bank Act, 2007.”
 
He pleaded “guilty” to the charges when they were read to him.
 
At the last sitting, the prosecution counsel, S.I. Sulaiman, urged the court to allow the investigating officer, ASE I Bolaji Temitope Aje, to give a brief review of the facts against him.
 
Aje narrated to the court that the EFCC received intelligence on some individuals, who are in the habit of mutilating and spraying the Naira notes at social parties and event centres in Lagos.
 
 According to him, “Based on intelligence, the EFCC set up the Special Operations Team to observe and monitor activities of individuals, who are involved in the habit of mutilating the Naira.
 
“The team visited many event centres and monitored social media pages, where the Naira was being abused. During the course of the monitoring, the team came across videos on social media, where the defendant was seen abusing the Naira. The team then proceeded to download these videos via our office laptop computers and also went further to copy these videos on compact discs”.
 
“In the light of the foregoing, a letter of invitation was written and forwarded to the defendant.
 
“The defendant honoured the invitation. When he got to our office, he was voluntarily cautioned. Thereafter, he volunteered to write his statement”.
 
“The defendant was shown a video, where he was spraying money on an artiste called Segun Johnson. The defendant confessed that he was the one in the video. He was also shown a video at IMAX Circle Mall, where he sprayed a total sum of N400,000 at a movie premiere. The defendant also admitted that he was the one in the video and that he carried out the abuse”.
 
“The defendant was also shown two other videos of him spraying the Naira at Aja junction, Ikorodu, and White Stone Event Centre, Ikeja, Lagos.
 
“The defendant admitted to spraying money in these videos. He was, therefore, served with a bail condition.
 
Consequently, Sulaiman then prayed the court to convict and sentence the defendant accordingly.
 
Justice Awogboro had, thereafter, ruled that “upon the admission of guilt by the defendant, testimony of PW1 and following the evidence tendered, the defendant is declared guilty as charged.”
 
In his plea for mercy, Bobrisky  said: “I am a social media influencer, with five million followers; and in all honesty, I was not aware of the law. I wish I can be given a second chance to use my platform to educate my followers against the abuse of the Naira.”
 
Also, his lawyer had said: “He will lead the crusade against the abuse of Naira. He is also an employer of people ; and if he goes to jail, the people he employs  will suffer. He has cooperated with the EFCC and has not wasted the time of the court. We urge the court to caution the defendant and allow him to go. He has given evidence that he will be useful to the country. We urge you to grant a non-custodial sentencing option of fine.”
 
After listening to both parties, the Judge had deferred judgment in the matter to Tuesday, April 9, 2024 and also ordered that he be remanded in the EFCC custody.
 
Delivering judgment on Friday, Justice Awogboro held that “The act of mutilating the Naira notes has become a menace, which has continued to damage the image of the country…
 
“Enough of people mutilating and tampering with our currencies. It has to stop. His will serve as a deterrent to others.”
 
The Judge, therefore, sentenced him to six months imprisonment, without an option of fine, from the date of his remand.

K-drama 'Vagabond' Season 2 to film in the Philippines.

MANILA, Philippines — Former Ilocos Sur Gov. Chavit Singson revealed that the second season of Korean series "Vagabond" will shoot in the Philippines.

In an interview with the media during the opening of the latest branch of BB.Q Chicken in Ayala Malls Feliz, Singson said that he will be one of the producers of the show.

“Meron, ‘yung series na very popular sa Korea, 'Vagabond'. Itutuloy dito. Nakatapos na sila, tapos ‘yung continuation, dito na sa Pilipinas kukunan,” Singson said.

Tinatapos muna ‘yung istorya para may susundan sila. Unlike the others na kapag gumawa, hinuhulaan kung saan susunod, ‘yun ayaw nila, gusto nila kumpleto na ‘yung istorya," he added.

Singson further mentioned that Filipino actors will be joining the cast as he takes on a role in producing the series.

“Yes, makakasama ako sa production dahil niyayaya nila ako,” he said.

Popular Nollywood actor, Junior Pope, is dead.

Junior Pope, who shared a video on a boat on Wednesday morning, reportedly died in a boat accident.

The actor and three of his colleagues were coming back from a movie location when they fell into Anam River in Anambra State on Wednesday.


The President of Actors Guild President, Emeka Rollas also confirmed Pope’s death.

He said “It is true, Junior Pope died today in Asaba in a boat accident.

“We have deposited his corpse in a mortuary in Asaba.

“Four other people were involved but their bodies are yet to be recovered,”.

Similarly, filmmaker, Sam Olatunji announced his death on Wednesday.

“Junior Pope passes on. Sad day for Nollywood.

“Four actors including Jnr Pope fell into Anam River on their way to location and their bodies have been recovered.

“What a sad day for Nollywood. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. Multiple sources confirm this sad development to us,” Olatunji wrote on his Instagram page.
The actor is survived by his wife and three children.

In what seems to be light work for Kendrick Lamar, his latest song ‘Like That’ has overtaken and surpassed previous hits from his discography on the Billboard Hot 100 charts.

The scathing track, crafted in collaboration with Future and Metro Boomin, is now the longest running number 1 hit for Kendrick, comfortably peaking on top for two weeks and counting. Kendrick’s previous personal record was solidified with tracks like ‘HUMBLE’ and ‘Bad Blood’, both of which spent a week each at the coveted summit.

With this monumental feat, Kendrick now has a total of 3 songs that have made it to the #1 position on the charts. Notably, 72 of the tracks in his discography have made it to the Hot 100, out of which 13 songs have made the top 10 cut. In contrast, his contemporary J. Cole (one of two artists the track was intended towards) has had a total of 74 songs in the Hot 100 – with 12 songs making it to the top 10, and only 1 at the top. It would also be remiss not to include rapper and singer Drake in this conversation, who has had an impressive 77 songs in the Top 10 alone, with a whopping total of 329 songs making it to the Hot 100 and 13 making it to the number one position.

What remains yet to be seen is how the chart positions fluctuate with fans of the ‘Big 3’ anticipating follow up releases from the three in the midst of ongoing controversy between these top tier artists. With J. Cole issuing a formal apology to Kendrick for his response to the hit ‘Like That’, a Cole release in the ongoing lore is unlikely, whereas Drake’s response is awaited with baited breath in light of his insinuations on social media and otherwise.
