April will see the return of J. Cole's Dreamville Festival in North Carolina, and the rapper has assembled an all-star lineup to take the stage.

Headliners SZA, Nicki Minaj, and Chris Brown will join J. Cole for Dreamville Fest 2024, which will be held on Saturday, April 6, and Sunday, April 7, at Raleigh, North Carolina's Dorothea Dix Park. Chris Brown has revealed his upcoming 11:11 Tour, which is in support of his most recent album of the same title.

Little Caesars Arena in Detroit will host the opening night of The 11:11 Tour's North American leg on June 5. Before wrapping up on August 7 in Los Angeles at Crypto.com Arena, the popular singer will stop through a number of big cities, including Chicago, Brooklyn, Montreal, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Houston, Baltimore, Oakland, and more.

In some cities, Brown will be joined as a special guest by Muni Long and Ayra Starr.

Vice President, Kashim Shettima Hands Over 200 New Stores To Traders At Adire Market.

Vice President Kashim Shettima has declared the turnover of 200 recently renovated stores to 400 entrepreneurs at the renowned Asero Adire market in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation, made this known in a statement on its X handle, on Wednesday, March 6.

Part of the statement reads: "Offering a lifeline for traders in Ogun State, Vice President Kashim Shettima has announced the handover of 200 newly refurbished stores for use to 400 entrepreneurs at the popular Asero Adire market in Abeokuta.

"The beneficiaries will use the stores free of charge for a period of one year, after which they will be charged discounted rates for the use of the facilities.

"The gesture is part of efforts by President Tinubu administration to support small businesses by providing an enabling environment for them to thrive.

"Vice President Shettima announced the gesture on Tuesday at the second edition of the Expanded National MSME Clinics in Abeokuta, Ogun State."

Education / JAMB To Conduct UTME-Mock On March 7, Permits Use Of Pencil

The Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) has announced that the 2024 Mock-UTME is scheduled to take place on Thursday.

The Board said all candidates sitting for the 2024 Mock-UTME would be allowed to enter the examination hall with an ordinary HP pencil for numerical analysis if they so desired.

The JAMB spokesperson, Dr Fabian Benjamin, in a statement on Wednesday said they clarification became necessary following the series of enquiries from candidates and the general public regarding whether HP pencils were permitted in the examination hall as a writing material.

He said: “It should be noted that the Board had hitherto prohibited the use of pencils and other banned materials in view of the nefarious ends that these materials are put.”


“The Board, has, however, okayed the use of ordinary HP pencil during the upcoming Mock-UTME and the main scheduled to commence on Friday, 19th April, 2024.”

Consequently, candidates are urged to note that they are to come with only one pencil to their respective examination centres as specified while ensuring that they are not in possession of any other prohibited items.

Governor Adeleke Congratulates New Osun Online Publishers Association Chairman, Mukthar Ajelogbon.

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has congratulated the newly elected Chairman of Osun Online Publishers Association (OOPA), Mukthar Ajelogbon, Publisher of Osun Reporters.

In a congratulatory message by the Spokesperson to the Governor, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, the Governor also congratulated other newly elected members of OOPA executives.

The Governor urged them to uphold the tenets of journalism as well as take the association to the next level by engaging in consistent fact checking and tackling the menace of fake news adding that the place of online journalism in our society today can not be over emphasized.

The Governor said, "I wish to congratulate the newly elected Chairman of Osun Online Publishers Association, Mukthar Ajelogbon, Publisher of Osun Reporters and his executive members.

"While I wish them a successful tenure, I want to encourage them to always uphold the tenet of journalism and engage in consistent fact checking while we all tackle the menace of fake news.

"The place of online journalism can not be over emphasized in our world today and Osun can not be left out.

"You have my support and once again I wish you a successful tenure of office."

Crime / Truck Driver Crushes Man To Death While Reversing

A man identified as Gbolahan Aina, has been confirmed dead after he was crushed by a truck on Saturday, March 2,  in the Ikeja area of Lagos state.

According to reports, the driver of a Mack truck with registration number KJA 74 XQ, Donatus Godwin, put the truck on reverse without knowing that the deceased was right behind the truck.

Godwin said he reversed and climbed the victim, killing him on the spot.

The police was alerted and the victim was rushed to the hospital where doctors confirmed him dead.

Osun Online Publishers Association Elects New Leadership

Members of the Osun State Online Publishers Association, (OOPA) have elected new executives to pilot their affairs of the association in the next two years.

At the election which took place at the Digital Space, through online voting, Mukhtar Ajelogbon aka De-moon, Publisher of the OsunReporter News was elected as the new Chairman of the Digital Publishers' Association.

Other executives elected  are, Comrade Bright Olorungbotemi, Publisher of the Voice Air Media (VAM News)- Vice Chairman, Yusuf Idowu, Publisher of Idea plus Gist Media as Publicity Secretary, Fatai Akanji, Publisher of Adulawo News- Treasurer; all were elected unopposed, today March 2nd, 2024, as declared by the 2024 OOPA Electoral Chairman, Ayobami Agboola of City Mirror News.

Chairman-elect, Ajelogbon will takes over from Jare Ismahil Tiamiyu of Insight Media.

In Mukhtar Ajelogbon De-moon's acceptance speech, he pledged to jointly promote a united association with the newly elected leadership under his watch, through Team work agenda, work towards improving the welfare of members and reshape the association positively.

The new Chairman who expressed gratitude to members and other stakeholders for supporting him, said transparency and accountability will be the watchword of his administration and promised to drive the community along the paths of ‘ Peace, Progress and Prosperity (PPP)’, in accordance with the tested hand in the association, which may have explained the confidence reposed on him by members to let him go unopposed.

The Chairman-elect Ajelogbon had previously served as Programme Committee Chairman, of the Maiden Osun Digital Media Week, and similarly, the Vice-chairman elect, Gbotemi served as Publicity Secretary for two terms.

Until the election, the Publicity Secretary-elect was the outgoing Welfare Director for two terms, while the Treasurer-elect was the current Treasurer.

Professionally, Mukhtar Ajelogbon De-moon has put in experiences from all the sections of Media sectors (Print, Broadcast and Online) over the years in the profession.

Veteran Nollywood John Okafor, also known as The man Mr. Ibu has passed on.

After a protracted illness, the actor reportedly passed away at Evercare Hospital in Lagos State.
Remember that the 62-year-old had to have both of his legs amputated due to health complications?

He was identified as having damaged blood vessels.

His family had solicited funds from Nigerians, saying the actor “had constant clotting of the blood in his leg [diseased blood vessels] and other health challenges posing a risk to his life, therefore the need for the amputation.”
