Three farmers in Oyan in Odo-Otin Local Government Area of Osun State were on Saturday allegedly attacked by some herdsmen on their farmland, Daily Post reports.

The farmers, who are siblings; Opeyemi Joseph, Nathaniel Joseph and Friday Joseph, were allegedly attacked by herdsmen on their farmland situated at Afoyin, Erin-Ile in Kwara State around 7 pm on Saturday.

One of the victims, Opeyemi on Sunday, said the Bororo herdsmen descended of them on the farmland while complaining over the farm destroyed by the cows.

He said the herders invaded their maize and cassava farm with cattle and started grazing on it.

Opeyemi said the herders attacked him and his brothers with batons in their hands after pleading with them to take their cattle away.

“They occupied our farm with their cows. The cows were destroying the farm and I appealed to them to take their cows off the farmland but instead, they attacked us and ran away.

“It was around 7 pm, so before we could reach the town, it was around 11 pm but went to the Oloyan’s palace to make a complaint and the king directed us to Erin-Ile,” he said.

He added that he has reported the case to the Oloyan Of Oyan, Oba Kelani Adekeye who advised that they should approach a police station and the palace of Elerin of Erin-Ile since the case happened on his land.

Meanwhile, Oba Adekeye could not be reached on phone as at the time of filing this report but a source in the palace confirmed the report.

Another night of violence left at least 90 Palestinians wounded after Israeli police cracked down on protesters outside occupied East Jerusalem’s Old City, as concerns mounted on Sunday that the situation may spiral out of control.

An estimated 90,000 Muslim worshippers prayed at the nearby Al-Aqsa Mosque on Islam’s holy night of Laylat al-Qadr – or the “Night of Destiny”, the most sacred of prayers during the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan – on Saturday.

Some stayed on to protest Israeli plans to forcibly expel Palestinian families from their homes on land claimed by illegal Jewish settlers in the Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood of East Jerusalem.

Israeli officers on horseback and in riot gear fired stun grenades and water cannon against Palestinians who in turn threw stones, lit fires, and tore down police barricades in the streets leading to the walled Old City’s gates.

Israeli security forces were on high alert on Sunday, bracing for a further escalation ahead of what Israelis call Jerusalem Day. Many Israelis mark the day East Jerusalem was occupied in 1967 – and later annexed by Israel – with marches throughout Jerusalem each year.
About 30,000 Jewish settlers are expected to participate in a march towards Damascus Gate in the Old City on Monday.

The gate will be closed to Palestinians until 7:30pm for “security reasons”, Israeli police said, adding 3,000 forces would be deployed.
World News / China Debris of Long March 5B landed in Indian Ocean
« Last post by Yakub Oloyede on May 09, 2021, 02:58:54 PM »

Remnants of China’s largest rocket launched last month plunged back through the atmosphere on Sunday, landing west of the Maldives in the Indian Ocean and ending days of speculation over where the debris would hit.

“After monitoring and analysis, at 10:24 [02:24 GMT] on May 9, 2021, the last-stage wreckage of the Long March 5B Yao-2 launch vehicle has reentered the atmosphere,” the China Manned Space Engineering Office said in a statement.

It added most of the components burned up in the re-entry.

US Space command confirmed the re-entry of the rocket over the Arabian Peninsula, but said it was unknown if the debris impacted land or water.

“The exact location of the impact and the span of debris – both of which are unknown at this time – will not be released by US Space Command,” it said on its website.

Monitoring service Space-Track, which uses US military data, also confirmed the re-entry.

“Everyone else following the #LongMarch5B re-entry can relax. The rocket is down,” it tweeted.

“We believe the rocket went down in the Indian Ocean, but are waiting on official data from @18SPCS,” it added in a separate tweet, referring to a squadron of the US Space Force.

US and European authorities had been monitoring the rocket, which was travelling at a speed of 13.7km/second (4.8 miles/second).

A difference of just one minute in the time of re-entry translates to hundreds of kilometres difference on the ground and earlier predictions had the rocket landing in several possible locations from the Mediterranean Sea to the Pacific Ocean.

According to experts, with most of the Earth’s surface covered by water, the odds that it would land in a populated area were low, and the likelihood of injuries even lower.

But uncertainty over the rocket’s orbital decay and China’s failure to issue stronger reassurances in the run-up to the re-entry fuelled anxiety over its descent.

China’s foreign ministry said on Friday the re-entry was highly unlikely to cause any harm.

Sunday Adeyemo, the Yoruba Nation agitator who is popularly known as Sunday Igboho has said he would not greet or sympathise with Redeemed Christian Church of God(RCCG) General Overseer, Pastor Adeboye, over the demise of his son, Dare.

The Nation reports Adeboye’s son, Dare, 42, died in his sleep on Tuesday, May 4 in Eket, Akwa-Ibom where he was pastoring a church.

He explained that Adeboye is not in support of his Yoruba nation’s cause.

Igboho in the now-viral video did not mince words when he rained curses on any leader or Pastor who refuses to support the secession agenda, saying God will kill their children and wives.

Igboho’s aide, Olayomi Koiki, in the video had asked him (Igboho) to commiserate with Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), over the death of his son, Dare Adeboye.

But the visibly infuriated Igboho asked if the man of God had declared his support for the Yoruba nation.

He said: “Has Baba supported the Yoruba nation that we will now be greeting him? We don’t need to greet Adeboye. What is my own with that? We are not doing church here. This is not religion.

“What we are doing is not about religion. Even our clerics are blocking our path. We don’t need to commiserate with Adeboye, what’s my business with that?

“Adeboye has never spoken about the Yoruba issue. Look at how huge his congregation is, why hasn’t he spoken for the Yoruba Nation? We don’t need to commiserate with him.

“God himself will judge those who have not supported us, may He continue to kill their wives and children since they don’t want us to reach our promised land.

“Whoever does not support Yoruba Nation but have the crowd in their churches, God I invoke you, you own me and everything I own belongs to you, and they have seen how Fulanis kidnap us and demand ransom, continue to kill their wives and children. So be it!”
Nollywood - Movie / Movie Review: The Wait isn’t worth the wait | Mp4
« Last post by Miss Ifeoluwa on May 09, 2021, 11:35:05 AM »

The long awaited movie “The Wait“, inspired by Yewande Zaccheaus‘ faith-based book “Waiting Room”.

“The Wait” follows the lives of different individuals and families as they try to navigate the disappointments and obstacles of life while waiting for the moments they would embrace their babies.

The feature-length film stars Nse Ikpe-Etim, Deyemi Okanlawon, Kate Henshaw, Joke Silva, Jimmy Odukoya, Chimezie Imo, Meg Otanwa ahd other talented cast.

The story line behind The Wait is an exceptional one as it tackles the issues of infertility in marriages and what couples go though behind close doors while waiting to have a child of their own.

The Wait gives hope to the all childless couple going through one health issue or the other. It also proffers other options to seek while ‘Waiting’. IVF, adoption, Surrogacy and the likes.

As much as we love the faith based movie, The Wait was as boring as boring could ever get. Nothing to excite or give you the kick. The movie was rigid and too focused for liking.

The scenes were also confusing and tacky, This moment, you are trying to understand what’s going on here, the next minute is a flip and again, you’re lost. In fact there are certain scenes that shouldn’t have found its way into the movie, E.g where Somto was chased by three angry men armed with machete. That particular scene has no business with the movie, no impact, no purpose.

The ending part of the movie didn’t get anyone excited either, instead questions were flying here and there, as some people were left in confusion, what happened? how did it happen? Well, unless there’s a sequel, The Wait wasn’t worth the wait after all!

Youths and young Pastors of the General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), have all gone bald and cut of their hair in honor of the late Pastor Dare Adeboye, one of the sons of the Church’s General Overseer.

Ahead of his funeral rites starting today, May 9, the youths of RCCG have now cut off their hair and gone bald as led by Leke Adeboye, another son of Pastor E.A Adeboye.

Late pastor and wife

Using the hash tag #ForPDee #NotTodaySatan, the youths have taken to social media to share photos of them having their hair cut off or shaven.

Meanwhile, the General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor E.A. Adeboye, has said he cannot blame God for the death of his son, Dare.

Speaking on Friday night at the May 2021 edition of the church’s Holy Ghost service, Adeboye said: “It is well even in the face of crises rather than ‘blame and question God’.”

He added: “Whatever we have is given to us by God, be it wealth, wife, husband, children e.t.c and if it got taken away by God, all we can do is give God glory for actually giving us the privilege to enjoy that wealth or kids temporarily and it is not for us to complain, blame and question God.”
