The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), had earlier today commenced a one-week warning strike due to the failure of Federal Government to implement the ASUP/Government agreement of 2010. Kaduna Polytechnic ASUP Chairman, Dr Aliyu Ibrahim, on Monday said the chapter would not join the strike because they did not receive any communication or official letter relating to the planned warning strike. He said: “Ideally, the national executives should have invited all the chairmen of the chapters before arriving at that decision. “I was not invited to any meeting and have not received any official letter on the planned warning strike. “All academic staff would be in class therefore all students of the polytechnic to be in school.”
