The appointment of Mr. Eghe M. Igbinehi as the Federal Polytechnic, Offa's acting Rector with effect from Monday, January 16, 2023, has been approved by the institution's Governing Council.

Dr. Olarongbe Afolabi will step down as acting rector on January 16, 2023. Mr. Eghe, After his elementary education proceeded to the University of Benin where he bagged a B. Ed in Mathematics in 1985, and M.Sc in Mathematics in 1989 from the University of Lagos.

According to a statement that was signed by Olayinka Iroye, the institution's head of corporate affairs, Afolabi was appointed in a letter dated January 7, 2022, prior to the appointment of a new Rector for the Polytechnic.

Iroye explained that the appointment of the institution's acting Rector was made in response to Dr. Lateef Olatunji's resignation on January 11, 2022.

Mr. Eghe joined the service of the polytechnic in October, 1992 and rose through the ranks to become a chief lecturer in the department of mathematics on 1st July 2002.
