This resolution of the House asking for fulfillment of the promise came from the Minority Leader, Leo Ogor, as an amendment to a motion, seeking adequate security arrangements for students in primary and secondary schools. Also, the House urged security agencies to collaborate with the Federal Ministry of Education and National Parents Teachers Association of Nigeria to “ develop and put in place comprehensive and effective security surveillance and strategy in the public primary and secondary schools.” But Ogor reminded the House that Buhari had promised pupils free meal and therefore asked that it be included in the resolutions of the House. We recalls that President Buhari during his campaign, promise students free meals in schools coupled with paying stipends to unemployed youth corps members. This was disclosed by the vice president, Yemi Osibanjo at the 45th Annual Accountants Conference in Abuja who said that the free meals scheme was a core project of the federal government that would in turn yield about 1.14 million jobs and an increase in food production.
