No fewer than five persons were reportedly injured as some persons allegedly in the convoy of Senator Ademola Adeleke clashed with opposition party members at the Ede South secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC).   The attack, which happened on Thursday in Ede, led to vandalisation of vehicles and other properties at the APC secretariat in the town.

An APC member, who witnessed the attack, alleged that APC members were at their party secretariat when some individuals in the campaign train of the PDP launched an unprovoked attack on them.

In his words, “We were at our party secretariat when Ademola Adeleke and his team were moving. They stopped and started singing different songs near our party secretariat.  “Later, some people attacked us and started hooligans in our office. Five people in our group were injured during the attack. It was an unprovoked attack on us."

Local government APC administrator Tajudin Abiola has identified two of the injured as Oluogun Kazim and Bakare Latif.

In response, Osun PDP's head of campaign Oladele Bamiji argued that the allegations against them were false.

Bamiji accused  APC of placing thugs in the secretariat who threw stones at  moving poles. He said Ademola Adeleke's campaign was peaceful and no one was attacked.

“I’m lying. After visiting Timiede Palace, the train was moving to the campaign site and some hooligans from the SPK Secretariat started throwing stones at us.

“The fans were offended, and the people around me responded. It happened. None of the members of the NDP were attacked,” he said.

On Tuesday,  Ataoja Osogbo Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Laroye threatened to  curse those who tried to disturb the peace of the city and the country.

The monarch, who claims to be the father of all politicians, said he welcomes any politician who visits his palace  and expects more politicians and political parties to visit his palace.
The royal father was visibly angry and reacted to the attack on the NDP election train while visiting the palace.
