‘Your Victory Is a Renewed Mandate From Osun People—Now Unite the State and Deliver’

Comrade Saheed Adeyeye, Chairman of the Odo-Otin Parapo Initiative, Osun State, has congratulated the Governor-elect of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on his victory in the 2026 governorship election, describing the outcome as a strong demonstration of the confidence and trust reposed in him by the people of the state.

Adeyeye said the renewed mandate should not be viewed merely as an electoral victory but as a greater responsibility to provide inclusive governance, promote unity and accelerate sustainable development across Osun State.

“Your resounding victory is a testament to the confidence and trust reposed in you by the people of Osun State. We believe in your capacity to provide good governance, promote unity and advance sustainable development for our dear state,” he said.

The Odo-Otin Parapo Initiative chairman urged the Governor-elect to place the welfare of the people at the centre of his administration, particularly by prioritising infrastructure, education, healthcare, youth empowerment, employment, agriculture and workers’ welfare.

He also called on Adeleke to extend a hand of fellowship to his political opponents and other stakeholders, irrespective of political affiliation, stressing that the election has ended and the collective interest of Osun State must now take precedence.

According to him, reconciliation, inclusiveness and constructive engagement will strengthen peace and unity while creating a favourable environment for economic growth and development.

Adeyeye to Tinubu: ‘Osun Needs Federal Projects, Investment and Genuine Dialogue’

Comrade Saheed Adeyeye has also appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to increase the Federal Government’s attention to Osun State through tangible projects, investment and meaningful engagement with the people.

Adeyeye stressed that the outcome of the 2026 Osun governorship election should not be seen as a determinant of the 2027 general election, arguing that effective governance, development and improved living standards remain more important to the people.

“Mr President, you are from Osun State. The people of Osun want dialogue with you. We want to see tangible projects and investments that will directly improve the lives of our people,” Adeyeye said.

He urged the Federal Government to prioritise road construction and rehabilitation, electricity, education, healthcare, agriculture, youth employment and industrial development across the state.

‘Osun People Are Looking Beyond Political Promises’

Adeyeye noted that residents are increasingly looking beyond political promises and want to see visible projects that can create jobs, stimulate economic growth and improve the quality of life in their communities.

He therefore called on President Tinubu to deepen engagement with Osun stakeholders, including traditional rulers, community leaders, youth organisations, professionals and other relevant groups, while increasing federal investment and development initiatives in the state.

“Mr President, you are our own, and our people are expecting much from you. Visible development and investment in Osun will strengthen the confidence of our people in your administration,” he stated.

Adeyeye further urged the state and federal governments to put development, dialogue, unity and citizens’ welfare above political differences.

He said greater cooperation between the Federal Government and the Osun State Government would help unlock the state’s economic potential, create opportunities for young people, attract investment and deliver sustainable development for present and future generations.

‘The Time for Politics Is Over; The Time for Development Is Now’

Adeyeye maintained that the people of Osun deserve governance that delivers measurable results, stressing that political differences should not become a barrier to development.

He called on all political leaders and stakeholders to work together in the interest of the people and ensure that Osun State receives the attention, investment and opportunities required to move the state forward.
