The pro-Biafra groups had also given the directive to honour those who died during the Biafra Civil War. Photographs of the Main Market and New Market in Owerri, the Imo state capital showed that both markets were totally deserted and closed for business to honour the directive. In Mile 1 market, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, traders, who are mostly Igbos deserted the market completely. ![]() ![]() DAILY POST correspondent monitoring the situation in Enugu said residents complied with the sit-at-home order. According to him, “most shops are closed, streets deserted while armed security agencies are seen patrolling the streets. “Intra city movement is difficult as most keke drivers and commercial drivers are not on duty.” DAILY POST can authoritatively report that most public and private schools in the state have been shut down. ![]() ![]()
