An election monitoring group, the Election Monitor (EM) has urged security agencies to ensure credibility of the November 18 governorship election in Anambra State.

The Coordinator of the organisation, Abiodun Ajijola, said this on Friday in Abuja at the public presentation of the “Election Monitor 2017 Anambra State Governorship Election and Research Guide, and First Report of the Current Continuous Voter Registration Exercise”.

The group is one of the observer groups accredited by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the 2017 Anambra State governorship election. Ajijola urged security agencies to ensure adequate and considerable deployments of personnel and also to ensure professionalism in the discharge of their duties.

“Security agencies should ensure that all posters promoting “No Election’ should be pulled down immediately. INEC and security agencies must aggressively assure voters that the election will hold and will be safe for voters to exercise their franchise.
