Acting President Yemi Osinbajo on Thursday, May 18, signed three executive orders.

The orders are to ease business, fast-track budget submissions and to promote Made in Nigeria products.

A statement issued by the spokesman for the Office of the Vice President, Laolu Akande, said the move will "significantly change some of the ways government business and operations are conducted in the country forthwith."

Before the signing, Osinbajo was said to have held an interactive session at the old Banquet Hall of Presidential Villa with all relevant government officials.

The officials included ministers, permanent secretaries and heads of departments and agencies among others.

According to the statement,  the session was meant to directly engage government officials who would be implementing the orders and the new instructions.

It added, "specifically, Prof. Osinbajo signed three executive orders giving specific instructions on a number of policy issues affecting:

i. The promotion of transparency and efficiency in the business environment designed to facilitate the ease of doing business in the country,

ii. Timely submission of annual budgetary estimates by all statutory and non-statutory agencies, including companies owned by the Federal Government.

iii. Support for local contents in public procurement by the Federal Government."

Osinbajo assumed the duties of President Muhammadu Buhari since the number one citizen returned to London for further treatment of his undisclosed ailment.
