The speculation, which started late in the evening, made residents jittery as the social media was awash with rumours of a blast. Reports had it that residents of Karu, a satellite town, heard a loud explosion but this turned out to be false. This was coming a week after multiple explosions rocked Nyanya and Kuje, two satellite towns in FCT, killing 20 people and injuring many others. The Commissioner of Police, FCT, Mr. Wilson Inalegwu, told our correspondent that the Police had yet to establish any explosions in the FCT. He said the Police heard the speculation but could not verify or confirm the site of the blast. Inalegwu said, “We heard the speculation about the blast but we have not been able to establish the scene. So for now, it is in the realms of speculation because we couldn’t establish that there was an explosion. But my men are on patrol to ensure that nothing untoward happen.”
