The Xiaomi Redmi 8 is the original version released a few weeks ago of the Xiaomi Redmi 8A smartphone. The mobile has a decent body design and impressive camera set-up under the budget category. Massive battery size, processing, splash resistant, and Wireless FM radio are the main highlight when it was announced in India.

Design And Display
On the body, the Xiaomi Redmi 8 adopt an eyecatching body design. The device will be a good companion to those that fancy high-end devices more especially to bloggers, gamers, travelers and entertainment seekers.

It has a splash-resistant with a smooth panel that features the camera, an LED flash, and the fingerprint scanner. It measures 156.5 x 75.4 x 9.4 mm in dimensions and weight 188 grams.

Puting the attractive body outside, the front pack a Dot-notch display that offers a large screen display size of 6.22 inches with a resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels and 270 PPI density.

The Xiaomi Redmi 8 comes with display protection of corning gorilla glass 5 and it’s equipped with IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen.

Camera
On the camera set-up, it has a dual-camera configuration that consists of 12 MP with an additional 2 MP shooter. The camera features LED flash, HDR, panorama and it can record full HD video resolution.

The front camera is 8 MP AI shooter with f/2.0 aperture, Portrait, and Beauty Mode for both selfies and video calls.

Hardware And Software
The Xiaomi Redmi 8 packs a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 processor, coupled with a highly efficient Adreno 505 GPU at 650 MHz. On top of it, all is an octa-core clocking at a maximum speed of 1.95 GHz.

Powering the device is the Android 9.0 Pie operating system with MIUI 9 user interface on top. The internal storage available on the inside is 32GB with 3GB RAM and another model with 64GB and 6GB RAM.

You can still expand the memory up to 512GB using a micro SD card that is if you want.

Battery Power And Network
The Xiaomi Redmi 8 has a non-removable battery capacity of 5000 mAh with fast charging technology. The juicer will surely last for days when fully charged.

The dual SIM slot has support for 4G LTE Network with other regulars such as WiFi for a wireless connection, Bluetooth, Wireless FM radio, A-GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BDS for location tracking and 2.0, Type-C 1.0 reversible connector, and USB On-The-Go.

The Xiaomi Redmi 8 with 3 GB RAM + 32 GB storage will sell for $113, while the 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage will cost $127.

In Nigeria, the Xiaomi Redmi 8 will sell for 42,000 Naira, while in Kenya it will cost 12,000 KES and in Ghana, it will sell for 700 GHS.
