Parading the best camera set-up, the Honor 30S is an upper device that was announced by Huawei sub-brand Honor. It also features a brilliant 6.5-inch Display. This phone was announced a few days after the launch of the Huawei P40 and judging from the specifications, it’s just a few steps below the P40. One of the major highlights of the phone is the company awaited Kirin 820 chipset found on the inside.

Design and DisplayThe Honor 30S packs similar body design as it’s predecessor. It packs the same rounded corners and the butterfly 3D glass back design on the Honor 20S. You will get a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
Here the little difference is the matrix camera housing the four cameras and a flash. The entire body measures 162.3 x 75 x 8.6 mm in dimensions and it weighs 190 grams.
On the front, the Honor 30S has a punch-hole camera similar to its predecessor and you can order the phone in different colors shades such as Black, Blue, Green, and a new Feather Red gradient model.
It has a screen size of a 6.5-inch LTPS LCD punch-hole display with a resolution of 2400 × 1080 pixels coupled with HDR10 certification. Honor equipped the device with Aluminosilicate glass and it reaches 83.8% screen-to-body ratio.
CameraThere is a quad-camera setup at the back. The camera consists of a 64MP f/1.8 shooter which is paired with an 8MP f/2.4 telephoto shooter with 3x optical zoom, 5x hybrid zoom, and 20x digital zoom.
It also has an 8MP f/2.4 ultra-wide-angle lens and lastly is the 2MP f/2.4 macro shooter which can take close up shots to 4cm. Sadly you won’t get OIS.
The camera set-up on the Honor 30S is capable of shooting 4K videos and 960fps slo-mo video at 720p resolution. Other features include AIS and EIS for stabilization. Selfies fanatics will get 16 MP on the front.
Hardware and SoftwareRocking the Chinese phone is the latest 7nm Kirin 820 processor. Despite the mid-range family, the chip offers smooth performance and AI capability comparable to other flagship device processors of this 2020.

There is a Mali-G57 6-core GPU on the hood. The Honor 30S has ample RAM of 8GB with 256GB storage. These also are LPDDR4X and UFS 2.1 standards.
Battery and NetworkThe Honor 30S has a 4000mAh battery with 40W fast wired charging. Booting the device is Magic UI 3.1.1 on top of Android 10.
It has 5G SA/NSA dual-mode standards and Wi-Fi ac, BL 5.1, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Sadly there is no IR port.
Additionally features on the Honor phone are a special e-Reader mode (Black & White), eye-protection mode, Link Turbo, GPU Turbo and an anti-aging software feature which the company claim will keep the UI smooth and snappy for more than 30 months.
Honor 30S Price and AvailabilityThe Honor 30S will sell at a price of $338 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB ROM, while the 8GB RAM + 256GB ROM will cost $380.
The smartphone is available for purchase in China. Meanwhile, in Nigeria, the Honor 30S will sell around 125,000 Naira, 2,000 Ghs in Ghana and 36,000 Ksh in Kenya.
