Huawei has just announced the Huawei Enjoy Z 5G in its home country China. The phone is the first 5G device from the company that was not powered by the Kirin processor. Instead, it comes with a new MediaTek’s Dimensity 800 5G processor. This new Dimensity 800 is for affordable 5G phones. The device has a price tag of $238 and it comes with interesting features on the hood.

Design and Display

The Huawei Enjoy Z 5G is a budget device that is built with glass and plastic both on the frame. It has a gradient rear that is housing the cameras, an LED flash while the fingerprint scanner is on the side.

It measures 160 x 75.3 x 8.4 mm in dimensions and weight 182 grams which is not that heavy to hold. On the front, it has a 6.5-inch display with a Dewdrop notch at the top for the front camera.

Huawei claims that the screen, with its 2400 x 1080 resolution and 90Hz refresh rate, has a 91.2% screen-to-body ratio. It also packs a touch sampling rate of 180Hz.

Camera

The Huawei Enjoy Z 5G has a triple rear camera set-up on the back. The camera consists of a 48 MP that has an f/1.8 aperture and it comes along with a 2MP f/2.4 4CM macro camera and an 8MP f/2.4 super wide-angle camera.

Huawei claims that the camera has an Electronic Image Stabilisation (EIS) for smoother videos. Other features include 10x digital zoom, night scene mode, macro mode, and a beauty mode. The front shooter is a 16MP f/2.0 camera.

Hardware and Software

Rocking the budget Huawei 5G phone is a MediaTek’s Dimensity 800 processor which has a 7nm chip with 4 x Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.0GHz and 4 x Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.0GHz.

The GPU on the inside is a NATT MC4. In terms of storage, it’s available in three variants. This includes 6GB+64GB, 6GB+128GB, and 8GB+128GB.

It has support for storage expansion via a NanoMemory card slot up to 256GB. In case you don’t know, Huawei is not the only company that makes NM cards. Lexer also makes an NM card that starts from $28 for 64GB storage.

Battery and Network

The Huawei Enjoy Z 5G has a 4000mAh battery inside with support for a 22.5W fast charge. It has 4G and 5G with other features such as Bluetooth 5.1, Dual-SIM support, Dual-Band Wi-Fi, and OTP support.

It ships on Android 10 with EMUI 10.1 out of the box with other features like Knuckle Screenshot, Bluetooth Easy Connect with Huawei Freebuds 3, and a smart collage feature in the Gallery app preinstalled.

Huawei Enjoy Z 5G Price and Availability

The Huawei Enjoy Z 5G will sell at a price of $238 for 64GB variant, 6GB+128GB version goes for $266, while the bigger 8GB+128GB will sell for $308.

In Nigeria, the phone is expected to start selling at a price of 99,000 Naira, 1,500 Ghs in Ghana, and 28,000 Ksh in Kenya. You can order it in Dark Blue, Sakura Snow Clear Sky, and Magic Night Black colors.
