Last year, after previously being with Warner / Chappell, Jon Platt took the reins at Sony Music as Chairman and CEO. He brought with him Rihanna and now we've got news of another major megastar making a move.

Variety announced that Beyonce has signed a Sony / ATV Music Publishing publishing agreement. Throughout her career, she worked with Platt, as did JAY-Z at an event just over a year ago, calling Platt his brother and "the Obama of the music industry." Bey has had the following to say at the same event:

I’m so honored to celebrate you tonight. Most people in this industry lead with their ego, but you lead with your heart. You’ve touched so many lives, mine included.

Perhaps the relationship had something to do with it. We hope to get some new music from the Queen soon.
