LUTHER: A new Netflix thriller called THE FALLEN SUN is based on the BBC series that ran from 2010 to 2019. There have been 21 episodes released over the course of the show's five seasons, with the exception of a Christmas special with just two episodes.

Since forever, the Luther series has been on my to-watch list. I have not viewed a single episode of the series since watching this Luther movie on Netflix. Nevertheless, I anticipated this film to be good. Nevertheless, I had no idea it would be this good.

It never feels too long with a runtime of 2 hours and 10 minutes. even though I was on the edge of my seat for a lot of the movie!

Even though I never got around to reading the Luther books before seeing the movie, I knew that Idris Elba (The Dark Tower) played the title character. Likewise, I realized it was created by the BBC and is an exemplary wrongdoing, show, secret, spine chiller half and half series. The very kind that English TV has succeeded at for quite a long time.

What I didn't anticipate from this Luther film on Netflix was something that could contrast and James Bond motion pictures.

Nevertheless, with the notable exception of DCI John Luther not employing various gimmicks and gadgets. He is merely a brawler and a true genius at reading people. When it comes to solving a crime, think Hercule Poirot or Sherlock Holmes more than Ethan Hunt from Mission Impossible.

But when it comes to getting the bad guys to talk, it reminds me a little bit of Dirty Harry. He also has a lot of similarities to James Bond in that regard. But now that I think about it, James Bond usually ends up torturing himself rather than someone else. In this Netflix movie, John Luther is experiencing both ends, so to speak!

There was a lot of talk a few years ago about the possibility that Idris Elba might become the next James Bond. However, as I watched this movie, I couldn't help but think that Idris Elba already plays John Luther, so he doesn't need to play James Bond. Yes, I think he could have been a great James Bond, but this film is just as dark as the last Bond film with Daniel Craig in it.

Furthermore, neither is that a teaser nor a spoiler.

Luther, along with Idris Elba: The cast of The Fallen Sun is very strong. The new boss is DCI Odette Raine, played by Cynthia Erivo (Bad Times at the El Royale, Stephen King's The Outsider). Despite the fact that John Luther ends up in prison at the beginning of the film, she is not exactly his boss.

Cynthia Erivo is a formidable opponent as always. She really is a small woman, but when she is next to tall Idris Elba, you don't notice because of her big and bold attitude.

Additionally, the supervillain is played by Andy Serkis, who is absolutely fantastic. Furthermore, he truly is an antagonist of the most exceedingly terrible kind. He is a very special kind of serial killer. the kind who is in charge of everything but dislikes getting his hands dirty. In a very sick way, it is brilliant and terrifying at the same time.

Luther sees a lot of deaths: The Fallen Sun and additional bodies are visible. like people who are dead when the story starts. For a villain who hides in plain sight, Andy Serkis has the ideal mask. Yes, both the movie's trailer and the opening scene confirm that he is the serial killer.

Andy Serkis (The Batman, Planet of the Apes Trilogy) can sound even more like a crazy villain than he can look. He can make full use of his talent as a great voice actor here as well.

The Luther director: Jamie Payne is the director of The Fallen Sun. He has also directed a few episodes of The Alienist series and all five seasons of Luther. just a few examples from Jamie Payne's impressive IMDb resume.

Neil Cross is the author, which makes perfect sense given that he also created the BBC series Luther. I am actually quite excited to still have the Luther series to look forward to after watching this Netflix movie about DCI John Luther "doing what he does best." In fact, it is rapidly rising to the top of my watchlist.

This is an intensely entertaining thriller with a murder mystery, regardless of whether or not you are familiar with the Luther series. For frightfulness fans, it likewise offers an extremely interesting reprobate and an out and out merciless arrangement. In fact, the entire strategy behind the murders and crimes in this film was brilliant. primarily because I anticipate that the majority of people will be able to relate in some way.

Luther: Netflix will release The Fallen Sun on March 10, 2023. Additionally, it has been playing in select cinemas since February 2023.
