KLEO is a new Netflix series from Germany. This is basically a vengeance story, but lots of dark humor is used to keep effects light. Also, it begins in the 1980s but substantially plays out shortly after the fall of the Berlin Wall. This obviously makes for numerous intriguing compliances about that time period.

You ’ll get both suspenser, crime, action, and some comedy with this German series. It’s veritably character- driven and the title character snappily made this series remind me of both Killing Eve and Clark. There are eight occurrences in the season – each with a runtime of around 45 twinkles.
 Killing Eve meets Clark
When you mention a series like the brilliant Payoff Eve, it’s important to also say that Kleo is n’t just a German interpretation of that show. That’s why I also want to mention the Swedish series, Clark, as an egregious comparison.

Killing Eve is each about intelligencers and transnational conspiracies and murders. Which, to be fair, Kleo surely is as well. still, it takes place in Germany( and other places) right after the fall of the Berlin Wall. A veritably turbulent time that had memorable( to say the least) fashion and music.

Due to the time period setting – and use of comedy to a larger degree – Clark is good to have as a reference as well.
Jella Haase is perfect as Kleo
As Kleo, we see Jella Haase. She's all kinds of brilliant in this part. Fierce, funny, and fully changeable as this homicide, who's now a free agent. And looking for vengeance!

I didn't fete Jella Haase at first, so I was ready to say that I was n’t familiar with her previous to watching this new Netflix series. still, she formerly played the title part in a movie that was a remake of another movie, I loved. The German interpretation is named Kidnapping Stella and Jella Haase played Stella.
While a direct comparison to Jodie Comer’s “ Villanelle ” in Killing Eve is n’t fair, it also is n’t exactly wrong. I mean, Kleo is an homicide working for a secret service organ( Stasi in East Germany) and when East and West Germany come, well, Germany, she is n’t relatively ready to let go of the history.
For good reason, I might mention, since she was penalized oppressively, simply for doing her job.

Also, Kleo has that Villanelle band of always going her own way. Sure, she might make a pledge, but she ’ll just as soon break it. And, of course, there's the homicide part. Both are enough damn good at that as well.
Watch season 1 of Kleo on Netflix
The showrunners and pens on Kleo are HaRiBo, which is an acronym for Hanno Hackfort, Richard Kropf, and Bob Konrad. The three also created the Prime Video series You Are Wanted which starred Matthias Schweighöfer. Elena Senft also did some fresh jotting on occurrences 4 and 5.

The new German Netflix series has eight occurrences that are directed by one of two directors, who each directs four occurrences. Viviane Andereggen directed occurrences 1- 3 and 8, while Jano Ben Chaabane directed occurrences 4- 7.

Whether you feel like comparing Kleo to Killing Eve( how could you not?!) or Clark or commodity entirely differently, just know that this new series is both smart and funny. And not commodity you want to miss out on!

Kleo season 1 is out on Netflix from August 19, 2022.
