She forms a unique bond with the new night nanny, played by Halt and Catch Fire star Mackenzie Davis, but soon learns there’s more than meets the eye. The film had a surprise screening at the Sundance Film Festival in January where it received positive reviews, with some even comparing it to something like Mary Poppins in that Davis’ titular character changes the lives of this family for the better. This new trailer does a great job of showcasing the film’s brutally honest approach to motherhood, and the cinematography by Eric Steelberg is really striking. As one of five people who really liked Reitman’s last two films Labor Day and Men, Women, and Children, I’m game to see anything the Up in the Air filmmaker tackles, but Tully looks like something special. Check out the new Tully trailer below. The film opens in theaters on April 20th.
