Part of the way through the primary period of Succession, Ewan Roy (James Cromwell), the antagonized brother of Waystar Royco author Logan Roy (Brian Cox), pronounces, "This entire family is a home of snakes. They'll fold themselves over you and they'll choke out you." It's a reasonable sign of the two kin's ill will for each other, but on the other hand it's an amazingly succinct rundown of the Roy family explicitly and the account of Succession on the loose.

Obviously, Ewan's "group of snakes" descriptor proceeds with unabated all through the initial five scenes Succession season 2, which debuts this end of the week.

In a way, we’re almost made to feel sorry for his plight, though the show quickly and adeptly finds new ways to shock viewers out of such complacency within a matter of scenes -- if not minutes.
