Hot off the heels of novels and video games from "The Witcher," especially the hugely successful third and final installment released in 2015, we now have a TV series adaptation coming our way, of course, courtesy through streaming Netflix.

His first teaser was just released, giving us an eye-full of Henry Cavill as lead witcher Geralt of Rivia, a demon hunter joined by Princess Ciri (Freya Allan) and wizard Yennefer (Anya Chalotra).

Here’s what we know about the story so far: Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. But when destiny hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress, and a young princess with a dangerous secret, the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together.

The series will also feature Jodhi May as Cintra's Queen, Calanthe, Björn Hlynur Haraldsson as her husband, Knight Eist, MyAnna Buring as Tissaia, Aretuza's magic academy leader, and her novice sorcerers Fringilla (Mimi Ndiweni) and Sabrina (Therica Wilson-Read).

The author of this widely acclaimed and popular fantasy series will also keep a check on this series based on the Polish fantasy novel series by Andrzej Sapkowski, working as a creative consultant to ensure that this adaptation is at its best. He will supervise this series with his creator and showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, who also pitched for the episodes with writing.

The first episode, as well as three others, are directed by Alik Sakharov (“House of Cards,” “Game of Thrones”), and Alex Garcia Lopez (“Marvel’s Luke Cage,” “Utopia”) & Charlotte Brändström (“Outlander,” “Counterpart”) have directed two other episodes each.

Here’s to a fantasy epic to fill the hole that “Game of Thrones” has now left (let’s hope this one ends up having a better final season).

“The Witcher” will premiere on Netflix on December 20.
