The film goes beyond the current climate change narrative and offers hope that we can actually stave off the worst effects of global warming. “Ice on Fire” has been selected to screen at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, alongside another DiCaprio doc with a similar message. The doc is directed by Leila Conners, who has a long history in documentary film, and is probably best known for her work on films like “We the People 2.0” and “The 11th Hour.” Leonardo DiCaprio isn’t just one of the biggest actors in the world. He’s actually actively trying to save the planet. No, not like those Marvel heroes, but as one of the biggest names in environmentalism. And when he’s not out there starring in the latest Quentin Tarantino film, the actor is using his clout to produce docs on how we can save our planet, like “Ice on Fire.” “Ice on Fire” will premiere on HBO on June 11.
